Collaborateur de Guitarist & Bass magazine, Sylvestre Planchais est un spécialiste de
la guitare “dactyle”.
Bâti sur une solide culture jazz (Wes Montgomery, Barney Kessel, Joe Pass figurent entre autre parmi ses influences principales), son jeu est à la fois brillant et virtuose et délicieusement musical.
La pratique régulière de la musique
New Orleans l’a amené à un jeu très rythmique au groove quasi funk.
Du jazz traditionnel aux harmonies plus récentes, un aller-retour incessant !
• La rubrique jazz de Guitarist Magazine lui ouvre régulièrement ses pages “pédagogie”, il anime des stages “Jazz par le Blues” ou “Jazz Funk” et des master-classes.
Il est intervenant à l’école Atla.
Il est l’auteur d’une méthode de guitare jazz,
d’une vidéo sur le funk et d’un
DVD (concert/pédagogie).

Il travaille dans divers contextes : solo, trio, big band, accompagnement, studio.
Solo : maîtrisant la technique du “tapping” polyphonique, appelé aussi ''Guitare Dactyle”, il utilise ce jeu simultané des deux mains sur le manche avec indépendance rythmique
pour l’associer subtilement au jeu traditionnel (médiator et picking).
